AFP WNC's Thank You Fest pops up at seven coffee shops in Asheville, Woodfin, Hendersonville and Cullowhee on Nov. 10 with free coffee for nonprofit workers.
People who raise money, work or volunteer for nonprofits in Western North Carolina can get a free coffee on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at one of seven coffee shops in Asheville, Woodfin, Hendersonville and Cullowhee.
The Western North Carolina Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, known as AFP WNC, is running the day, called Thank You Fest, to mark National Philanthropy Day. It is open to fundraisers, nonprofit staff, volunteers and donors, and it is free, though the chapter asks people to register for the stop they plan to visit.
“You Make GOOD Happen. Let Us Treat You!” the chapter says on its event page, which describes the day as “a free day of appreciation for the fundraisers, nonprofit professionals, volunteers, and donors who make GOOD happen across Western North Carolina.”
Where to go
The seven stops, as the chapter lists them:
- Dripolator South, South Asheville
- Peabody Press, East Asheville
- West End Bakery, West Asheville
- Summit Coffee, River Arts District
- Woodfin Coffee Department, Woodfin
- Sharewell Coffee Co. & Roastery, Hendersonville
- Hillside Grind, Cullowhee
The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but each shop has its own pop-up hours inside that window. AFP WNC says people should use the event link to choose a stop, check its hours and register.
What happens there
Board members of the chapter “will be popping up at seven coffee shops throughout the region to share a little coffee, connection, and care,” the event page says.
Guests get a complimentary coffee, can put together a comfort care package and meet others who work for local causes. Everyone who comes can also enter a drawing for free admission to all of AFP WNC’s monthly programs in 2027.
“Stop by for a free coffee, build your own comfort care package, connect with colleagues and community friends, and take a well-deserved moment to recharge,” the chapter says. “We’re kicking off National Philanthropy Day celebrations early by recognizing the people who do so much for our communities.”
It adds: “Whether you stop by with a colleague or come on your own, we’d love to see you!”
A-B Tech is the presenting sponsor and UNC Asheville the supporting sponsor.
How to register
Registration is free through the AFP WNC event page, which links to the sign-up form where you pick your stop.
