Black Friday is Nov. 27, 2026, and Small Business Saturday is Nov. 28. Asheville’s holiday shopping is spread across four kinds of place: the enclosed Asheville Mall on Tunnel Road, the outlet center on Brevard Road, Biltmore Park Town Square in South Asheville and the independent shops downtown and in the Grove Arcade. None had posted Black Friday hours when this page was checked; this page will add them as each one does.

  • Asheville Mall calls itself Western North Carolina’s largest enclosed shopping center, just off Interstate 240, anchored by Belk, Dillard’s and JCPenney, according to the mall. Mall office: 828-298-0012.
  • Grove Arcade is a downtown market building with shops, restaurants and the outdoor Makers Market of about a dozen artisan stalls at its Battery Park end, according to the Grove Arcade. Merchant hours may vary; 828-252-7799.
  • Biltmore Park Town Square in South Asheville has shops, restaurants and a movie theater, and advertises free parking, according to Biltmore Park.

Holiday markets

  • Town Square Tree Lighting and Holiday Market, Biltmore Park. Friday, Nov. 20, 4 to 8 p.m., with the tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. Local makers, artisans, seasonal treats and family activities, according to Biltmore Park.
  • North Asheville Tailgate Market Holiday Bazaar. Saturdays from Nov. 28 to Dec. 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at UNC Asheville Lot P28. The market has run since 1980 with farmers, craftspeople and bakers, according to the North Asheville Tailgate Market.
  • Santa in the Square and Holiday Market, Biltmore Park. Saturday, Dec. 5, 3 to 7 p.m., with Santa visits from 3 to 6 p.m. and a free digital photo from a professional photographer, according to Biltmore Park.
  • Grove Arcade Makers Market. Year-round artisan stalls outside the arcade on the Battery Park side.

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is Nov. 28. Downtown Asheville, the River Arts District, West Asheville’s Haywood Road and Biltmore Village are where most of the city’s independent shops sit. Newly opened local stores are on our new businesses page.

Parking and traffic

  • Downtown: the city runs public parking garages, including the Pack Square, Wall Street and Rankin Avenue garages. Garage and street rates are on the city’s parking page.
  • Biltmore Park: free parking.
